Anyone else wondering if the sudden flurry of changes on Fanfiction.net is in response to Ao3's surge in popularity?

(I'm pretty sure Avengers fandom can take partial credit.)

It's been a looong week.  And instead of relaxing by watching anime, I instead decided to try to talk to Google's Cleverbot:

I think Cleverbot has too many bad influences )

I've had a terrifically awful day!  The kind that gives you recursive existential crises.  I think I shall go spend money irresponsibly until I feel better.  But that's not the point of this post.  The point of this post is that BRISBANE'S MOVING UP IN THE WORLD!  Now we too have random fish sculptures in the street!  \o/

Found in the newly-renovated China Town.  Isn't it trippy?  You can see its stomach.

In others news:

Turns out Perth's ferris wheel is shutting down!

P-CHAN I THINK WE MIGHT BE SOME KIND OF CURSE.  THAT'S TWO FERRIS WHEELS WE'VE KILLED NOW.

It's Ash Wednesday tomorrow apparently, which means there are approximately six weeks until Easter.  Yet Easter eggs have already been on the shelves since the first of January.

Let's spend a moment of silence contemplating that.  Easter eggs came out in January.  Easter is usually in April.

That means Easter chocolate is in circulation FOUR MONTHS prior to the day on which it's supposed to be given.

Where is the logic in this?  Chocolate isn't like a bike for Christmas!  It's a perishable item!  Who wants to eat four-month-old chocolate?  It's not likely to kill you, but the cocoa butter will have almost certainly separated in that time.  That's when milk chocolate is
covered in white spots and starts to taste like carob-scented cardboard.

The only conclusion I can draw is that it's all a cruel plan to take advantage of the weak-hearted chocoholic community.  They purchase their Easter eggs earlier, but driven mad by the temptation of chocolate in the house, consume it before the day, and are thus being forced to go buy MORE chocolate.  And so capitalism wins again.

Thinking about stuff like this is probably why I forgot half of my grocery list on Sunday and have to buy lunch for the rest of the week.  :|

This post is mostly to show off my [Poll #1413783]

So first there was C.C. in my Darker Than Black, then Shinigami playing football, and now when I'm reading Black Cat all I can think of is Inui.  I mean, I know there's only so many designs for 'mad, data-obsessed scientist', but it's somehow more obvious when they're both Shonen Jump titles.

Check it out:

THAT'S TOTALLY TYL INUI, RIGHT?

Maybe in Shin-Tenipuri we'll see him start to fall in with the wrong crowd and develop a fascination with nanomachines.

So, I was watching Diamond Dust Rebellion.  Or, as I have to started to think of it - Ichigo and Hitsugaya's love story.

Seriously Shonen Jump, I think you're a bit confused about your demographic these days!  Not that I'm complaining.  But damn, the amount of innuendo in this movie is really hard to ignore after all that time watching Tenipuri.  Someone tell me I'm not just imagining this!

There be spoilers under the cut )

I'm afraid I just can't keep this inside anymore.  Has anyone else noticed a rather striking resembelance between Eyeshield 21's Riku and Bleach's Hitsugaya Toushirou?

Guys, let's not even pretend about this one, okay?

CLEARLY RIKU DIES AND BECOMES A PRODIGY SHINIGAMI.

So, we’re on, what, Episode 8 or so of Darker Than Black now? And still very, very little of the overall story, settings and characters has been revealed. Even though I enjoy the slower paced unfolding dramas like this one, inevitably the rarity of new morsels of information about the direction of the plot drives one to start speculating and finding clues in odd places. Specifically, clues as to who that green haired girl in the opening animation is. She must be important, right? She’s in the opening animation! But we haven’t even had a single hint of who she is yet!

This is all we have of this character so far.

While watching Episode 7, though, I had an amazing revelation as to the possible identity of this mysterious character.

It’s CC from Code Geass!

CC
This girl.

Don’t believe me? The green hair is just a coincidence? May I direct you to the buckles on that white sleeve in the first screenshot? Looks familiar, doesn’t it? Not just the lime-green hair, but similar taste in clothes too. And let’s not forget CC’s whole schtick is giving people powers under a contract, which is pretty much what Darker Than Black is all about at this stage. The correlations continue to mount.

If that isn't enough for you, I found EVIDENCE.

Nothing more needs to be said.
