Author’s Note: This was quite late, apologies, RL has put me through quite a bit of a wringer the past couple of weeks and writing has been the very last thing on my mind. But we’re here! The end! And it’s an incredibly long chapter to finish off, too. This fic on the whole took way longer than intended and meandered way off course – but for all that it didn’t turn out as I originally hoped, I wound up a little bit fond of it. I guess it’s best put that while I’m not happy with the result at a macro-level, I like it at the micro-level. And learned some new things besides.

Also one last round of applause for Little House, without whom I can say this fic would have been a lot worse and who steered me around some nasty potholes and generally pushed the quality of this fic higher than it would have been had I been left entirely my own devices.

Author’s Note: A long time coming, but here finally is the next chapter! It's a nice long one, which will hopefully make up a bit for the wait. I didn't get to do as much editing as I wanted on it, but I've already rewritten it once and am about sick of this chapter, and plus, didn't want to make you guys wait any longer.

Um, I will have to say that I won't be able to post the next chapter in two weeks either, though, because that is a con weekend and also I've been doing 12 hour days at work almost all week and that's not looking like stopping for at least a couple of weeks yet. I'll tentatively pencil the next chapter in for three weeks from now but I'll keep you posted. I'd hoped to have this fic finished before crunch time started up (both the work and cosplay variety) but it wound up taking a little longer than anticipated.

Um, for anyone reading Beloved, I have an announcement!

Okay, using the word 'announcement' makes it sound kind of ominous. 'Apology'? What I'm trying to say is, the next chapter is going to be late. Probably by about a week. Which is horrible, I know, since I have already pushed the updates to fortnightly in light of how exciting life has been lately. But I kind of pride myself on keeping to my updating schedule, so having to delay even further is upsetting to me as well! I don't like having such long breaks between updates because it's harder for the reader to remember what's been going on, too. :/

Despite been super-busy lately (and playing lots of video games also), this isn't actually the reason why this chapter is going to get pushed back. It was almost ready to send off for beta yesterday, in fact! What can I say, when my life becomes insanely busy I also become really really good at time management. Also like how the more broke I become the more magical I become at budgeting.

No, it's because right before I was about to send it off for beta I discovered a massive string of continuity errors! D: So massive, in fact, that it will necessitate completely rewriting about two thirds of the chapter. Which even if I can finish by Saturday won't give me enough time for beta or editing.

The good news is, my write-around solution to fix these continuity errors might make the chapter more interesting! The bad news is that I am going to have to beg extra time from you guys. It sucks, but we're close to the end of the fic, and those are the chapters I tend to take the longest time on. I usually have enough of a buffer when I start posting to ensure this doesn't matter but I sadly ran out of buffer a while ago now. So once more, apologies! I'll make a photo post or something on the Saturday to make up for it?

Author’s Note First batch of Xmas giftfics have been posted. I am terribly behind in writing the next chapter of this fic though, so don't expect any more fills for a while. I've finally started playing FF13-2 as well, and as expected have become immediately addicted, which is not helping my writing schedule at all!

This chapter is monstrously long though, so hopefully that makes up for it! Formatting was unusually nightmarish, so let me know if anything odd has cropped up in the paragraphing or punctuation.

Also, terrible news! I won't be able to update next week, since I will be nowhere near a computer for 95% of the weekend. I am not sure about the weekend after yet either, actually, since it's a convention weekend and my plans are still in massive flux.
