I am posting the first batch of giftfics only two days after Christmas. Are you proud of me? I am proud of me. Even though it's honestly probably because I'm procrastinating on cosplay or finishing Beloved.

Anyhow, these are all way longer than intended, that's why there's only three of them so far. I really need to start getting the hang of that whole 'drabble' thing. As always, these have been written by the seat of my pants without much in the way of editing and so are of varying quality. More will probably turn up sometime in the New Year, no guesses as to when. Did everyone have a good Christmas? I hope so. Happy Holidays and all that. Here are some presents!

I’ve been meaning to make this post for a while, no time like the present.

Despite having not touched anything related to the fic for some time, The Fifth Act seems to have been doing quite well without my input and has even kind of developed expanded universe, which is awesome. I try and post links when other people do things, but that's dependent almost entirely on whatever my LJ posting habits are that month. Figured it was about time to collate all the relevant links into one post!

This is kind of late, but wanted to give a shout-out to

lunchy_munchy who did yet another totally awesome podfic - of Dear Kunsel this time! With music and sound effects and everything.

Also, MikoAucarod on FFN has been translating The Fifth Act into Spanish! Which is all kinds of awesome. El Quinto Acto. Six chapters up so far, which is probably the furtherest I've ever seen any translation attempt on any multi-chapter fic go (at least, the ones that translate from other languages to English). He also did Dear Kunsel! Querido Kunsel. Which has me ridiculously chuffed. So what I'm saying is, if you read this journal and you speak Spanish and want to read those fic, MikoAucarod has made this possible and you should check it out. (Though logically, if you're reading this in English then why on earth wouldn't you be able to read the fic in English too...)

As for IRL matters, work is about to become very very busy and I am kind of terrified of seeing out the end of a huge project all on my own, but chances are once the deadline looms large I will simply be too busy to actually worry about it so I'm thinking about Dissidia heaps instead. I hunger for unlockables. Labryinth mode annoys me, though - what's the point of having a whole quarantined section of the game that doesn't let you transfer anything other than your level? Also you wind up having to reset ALL your characters whenever you want to go in there, most annoying, especially when you're one of those people (like me) who customises AP allocations obsessively. It doesn't even give you level up bonuses on Bonus Day!

Somewhat related, I've once again become distracted with writing Dissidia fic. Dissidia itself teeters perilously between crack and tragedy, which is kind of my personal sweet spot, so this isn't really surprising. There is not enough Dissidia fic in the world. This needs to be rectified.

Author's Note: So we finally reach the end! This chapter is really long, longest yet by far, which normally says to me that I haven’t been brutal enough with my editing machete yet, but I did say it would be out today, and god knows I can agonise over endings way too much so I'm just crossing my fingers and hitting 'post'. Besides, I think I'm going cross-eyed. Hope it does not disappoint.

I also want to take this opportunity to give a big thanks to all the readers and commenters. There was so many awesome threads in the comments, from firedraygon97 ’s cracky comics, to daemoninwhite’s completely unrelated sailormoonFFVII crossover, teekoness’s one-shot spinoff, lunarfirefox 's drawings and heaps and heaps of great recs and discussion.
