Granted, Yoko Shimomura, Nobuo Uematsu, and Yasunori Mitsuda haven't been part of the internal team at Square for a while, but OMG. Square outsourcing its music and maybe its sound too? Yes, Square Enix Music Online, I am one of those outraged followers.
I'm kind of having a terrible double-punch of sympathy for my fellow warriors, and that teenage heartbreak of having your favourite band break up. I mean, I'd only just started following Ishimoto's work! (He did this absolutely heart-breaking piece for Crisis Core, and this haunting piece for Dissidia, as well as the rather epic Chaos battle vocal trackI seriously thought they'd brought in an outside group for that one at first, and not to mention those fantastic arrangements in The World Ends With You! adslfjlasjdflksajdf I could max out the character limit going on about his portfolio) Granted, none of these guys should have any trouble whatsoever finding new work, but sucks to be made redudant after working with a company for 12-15 years. :/ And if Square can't afford to keep an internal sound team who the hell can?
Going to spend the rest of evening listening to the work of each of them in turn as a salute to their many years of hard work. /overly dramatic.
