Author’s Note: I got into this fandom about 3-4 years ago because when I was in Japan they were running both Detective Conan and Magic Kaitou on TV constantly and I don’t know, Stockholm syndrome set in or something because now I love it. I’m not 100% up to date with it because you know, there’s only 700 odd episodes and over a dozen movies and half of what I did watch I watched without subtitles so don’t hold me to high standards.

I’m not 100% sure why last time I did a fic binge a significant portion of fandom had decided that Kaito’s eyes were kind of purple, but I decided to run with it, and plot bunnies formed. Pretty sure this idea must have been done somewhere in fandom before but fear of genre saturation has never stopped me yet. Hope you enjoy it!
