Now on Ao3
Mar. 5th, 2012 09:59 pmLittle House In the Woods was kind enough to offer me an Ao3 invite, so, as is the nature of the universe, I am now on Ao3! Hooray! Because I'm already so bad at posting things to FFnet, why not compound the issue with another archive? XD
That said, I've been hearing a lot of great things about Archive of Our Own and have to say on initial perusal, liking their tagging system. FF.net has improved a lot in the ten years or so since I signed up (*feels old*) but it's quite the pain to search for, say, time travel stories with specific characters in them without resorting to often outdated C2's. (Of course, tags are only as reliable as the people who tag them, but every bit of search criteria helps when wading through the massive sea of fanfiction online.)
Only the one story from the backlog posted right now ('Allure of Honey', since it was a reasonably short one-shot and I'm still trying to figure out a way to avoid massive formatting carnage. Damn MSWord.) I'll almost certainly be putting up 'The Fifth Act', 'Dear Kunsel', 'Falling to the Darkside' and 'A Traditional Ninja Romance', but the prospect of porting over ten years worth of fic is a little daunting, so I thought I'd ask if there are any other stories people specificially want to see on there? I kind of want to cherry pick the better ones, much like how I already cherry pick the better fics from here for posting on FFnet.
In another news, new DJ Max Technika 3 machine has turned up in the local arcade! I have only been able to climb to fourth place on the local Pop Mixing boards, this makes me sad. I seem to have a hit some sort of difficulty barricade with the upper 6's and 7's - just cannot clear any of these songs! Pretty much once the purple notes start turning up on anything higher than 5, I am totally boned. It's actually kind of embarrassing. Perhaps, despite a lifetime of video gaming, I have simply hit the ceiling on my dexterity! Level grinding is providing diminishing returns.
Finally did manage to clear Signalize with a respectable score though! (Not as respectable as the video, though.)
