So I just got back from Cirque de Soleil, Dralion.  It was so shiny.  *___*  There was a girl who juggled umbrellas with her feet.  The costumes were terribly pretty and covered in tassels and sparkles, and the music was live, and the doube-trapeze act makes me want to key-smash so hard.  I really recommend anybody who gets the opportunity to go, crazy ticket prices be damned.  Also, I was sort of amazed at how well organised everything was?  Maybe I'm just used to going to events that resemble cattle markets, but proper signage and e-mailed directions sort of shocked me.

Yesterday was pretty good too.  Went to go see the new Disney animated movie, Bolt.  It's about a dog actor who actually believes that the TV show he stars in is real.  This should have been a terrible and lame premise and I went in expecting to see the usual Disney tripe (it was an exercise in pursuit of air conditioning), but it was actually the best movie I've seen in months.  You could tell the animators really enjoyed making it (there was no dancing, for starters, which is the first sign that your animators are bored) and who could dislike a movie that had helicopters that dispensed motorbikes that had missiles on them?  Also, it somehow managed to parody the new Wolverine movie before it came out.  And I loved Mittens.  And there was a cat that looked like Karupin!  *flails*

Okay, sort of rambling now, but this is the first time Disney has made an animated film that hasn't been a flat rehash or blatant act of plagarism since the mid-nineties.  I recommend this to everyone who can't go see Cirque de Soleil.  We should reward Disney for doing something other than making the Land Before Time XIII.

If that wasn't awesome enough, I am also in possession of tickets this Tuesday and Saturday to the Brisbane International!  And then, in two weeks, Melbourne, where [livejournal.com profile] ka0richan  has promised to stalk [livejournal.com profile] silverymare  and I constantly.  And we get the opportunity to actually go to [livejournal.com profile] pot_com_au 's annual Australian Open shindig!

BEST JANUARY EVER?  So far, all signs point to yes!

Probably not quite post-worthy, but I'm pumped.  January has historically been a bad month for me.  Pretty much the worst of all my life experiences have occurred in January, aside from this one September that was also pretty bad.  After a few years, you develop some paranoia!  But this one will be Awesome.

Oh, and I'll probably be posting new TezRyo longfic pretty soon.  The first of my new year's resolutions, completed so quickly!  That's called setting yourself realistic goals.

How are everyone else's Januarys looking?
