Author’s Note: Honestly, this fic was supposed to be abandoned a long time ago, but it sort of kept bothering me, and I kept revisiting it trying to fix it and make it good. It is not my best work.  It’s become something of a shrine to all my bad writing habits, but with ka0richan’s help (thanks Kaori!) it has been finished and has clambered up into mediocre territory. So I’m going ahead and posting it now because that’s the only way I’ll be able to resist rewriting it instead of moving on to other better fics. Hopefully it will provide some entertainment and discussion, if nothing else.

 

Now that I’ve done an excellent job of convincing people not to read it, here’s the first chapter. Since it’s already written and I’m just proofing at this point, it should work out to a chapter every day or two. There are 28 chapters in all. The first half is predominantly in Ryoma’s pov, the second half is more Tezuka’s. There are lots of TezRyo elements in the story (surprise), but it’s not the focus. I also expect that some people will absolutely hate some of the things I’ve done… but eh, you win some and lose some. ;)
