I am so sick of working on cosplay at the moment.  ;__;  AND I'M NOT EVEN FINISHED YET.

I am even having cosplay dreams now, it's that bad.  Granted, it was a pretty interesting dream - there were a bunch of cosplayers in a Team Fortress 2 type of scenario, only the completeness of your cosplay was your stats!  There were a bunch of people with unpainted foam armour who weren't doing too well.  In comparison I was actually almost entirely outfitted, except for some reason just my arms were completely bare, which was of course where all the NPC zombies kept trying to scratch me.  What the hell, brain.  Still, I guess it's an interesting way for my subconscious to inform me of its general anxiety.

I have exactly one day left to get all this in order, so of course this is the perfect time to go update LJ.  I just need to, you know, not crouch over armour for an hour or two.  So, progress update!

Torso armour!  See my mis-matching velcro everywhere, I had to double-velcro because I am paranoid.  My paint job on everything has wound up super-sloppy due to time.  Also all the multiple coats of sealant/paint/gloss I was planning have all become 'one of each, you're lucky we're getting even that'.  :|  Which really sucks, because the purple paint both dried darker than it went on and is not reacting as expected with the outer coat and wound up darker again.  :(  Paint chemistry, why have you failed me in my hour of need?  Luckily in CG renders Kain's armour is one shade shy of black anyway, but I am displeased with it.

Bits and pieces of other parts!  Against all odds I'm reasonably happy with the shoulder pauldrons though, even though there was one scary moment when I dropped them and the fins nearly came off.  We're not going to talk about the helmet or the thigh armour or the boots.  They are slow-motion disasters.  Oh hey, there's the codpiece in the background though!  It gave me comparatively little trouble, even if it was one of the weirder bits to make.

Disassembled lance!  I would be horribly embarrassed by this, but to get the spear from 'imaginary' to this point took a grand total of three hours, which is actually less than any other single piece of the damn cosplay.  I cut a disgusting number of corners.  It's a sad, tragic thing currently, with little hope of improvement in the time remaining.  I've given up on weathering the costume itself (no time!), but I might at least do that to the lance because the poor thing needs all the help it can get.  Have come to the conclusion that this costume was still far beyond my current skillset.  T__T  What was I thinking?

I'm pretty sure it's all going to just dissolve around me on the day!  I am terrified of cracking/chipped/sticking paint.  And have no idea how I'm going to fit all of this into a suitcase.  Ahahahaha.

Still left to do:  Skirt cape, wig, accessorising helmet and lance, still some paintwork left to do on boots, finishing thigh armour.  Oh god oh god oh god.
