It wasn't until the fourth round of Time wanting to break camp that Twilight started to notice something was wrong.

Author’s Note: Linked Universe has just completely taken over Zelda fandom and I've been swept up in it too, and considering Ocarina of Time was probably the genesis of my lifelong obsession with time travel as a trope, I wound up just spitting this thing out. I've kind of wanted to write some time travel from a point of view outside the time traveller for a while and just kinda vomited out something that almost became a character study instead. All this instead of the longfic I actually intended to finish...

Author's Note: So we finally reach the end! This chapter is really long, longest yet by far, which normally says to me that I haven’t been brutal enough with my editing machete yet, but I did say it would be out today, and god knows I can agonise over endings way too much so I'm just crossing my fingers and hitting 'post'. Besides, I think I'm going cross-eyed. Hope it does not disappoint.

I also want to take this opportunity to give a big thanks to all the readers and commenters. There was so many awesome threads in the comments, from firedraygon97 ’s cracky comics, to daemoninwhite’s completely unrelated sailormoonFFVII crossover, teekoness’s one-shot spinoff, lunarfirefox 's drawings and heaps and heaps of great recs and discussion. Seriously, you guys made this fic really worthwhile, I cannot express my appreciation for such a great audience enough, I want to thank you all by name but I think I'm already running up against LJ's post limit.

That said, I'm thinking I need to reclaim some weekdays, so I might stick to just Sunday chapters for a while if people don't mind. Had a re-read over the next few chapters, and they're still pretty rough around the edges and could use some extra editing.  Sorry, I said we'd be back to twice a week, but I'd rather put out chapters with fewer mistakes in them. ^_^; Anyhow, hope you like this one! Out of the frying pan and into the fire, as one might say.
