Cloud's logic will be explained, don't worry. ^_^ (Though whether you find that explanation satisfactory is another matter, I guess.) Although you have a point, it's easy to make drama when characters are acting irrationally! I guess that's why the logic losing out until too late thing is so commonplace in fiction.
Kunsel has already woken up from his coma with his memories intact, actually, if you will recall the mail he sent Zack. Cloud doesn't know that of course, but then, Cloud doesn't know Kunsel's been in a coma, either.
XD *Vincent shoots Cloud between the eyes, Cloud trips and falls over dead* - MOST UNSATISFYING END TO THE STORY EVER. I figure someone moving at SOLDIER-speeds is slightly more challenging to hit than a crazy scientist and stationary fossil, and we have to hope that he would at least try to deter Cloud first before going for the kill. It does make me wonder though - who would win in an all-out fight? Cloud or Vincent? Vincent's got Chaos and all that, but is Chaos really any worse than WEAPON or Sephiroth? I suddenly want to write this.
